Day 2 in Singapore
It was not the best sleep last night. A few of us woke up around 3 or 4 am and had a hard time falling back asleep. We ended up sleeping in a bit and grabbing a late breakfast. The concierge gave us a tip for a good place to buy some new chopsticks, and Josephine and JL braved the heat and humidity to walk to a mall in Bugis.

Shrimp flavour chips are fairly common in Asia, but salted egg and hot chilli squid were new ones for me. There’s also a lot of swanky stores in the mall near our hotel: Cartier, Patek Philippe, Chanel, Gucci, Rolex…

Just as we were leaving, the light and music show began:
Isabelle needed more rest in the hotel room, so I ran down to the mall and bought her a juice. I stumbled on a supermarket - I love visiting them in other countries to learn a bit more about the culture! Seeing the different potato chip flavours is a fun one:

We passed a lovely afternoon by the pool, and headed out to find the iconic dish of chicken rice. After another bit of rest in the hotel after the hot walk, we waited for the sun to set then took the MRT to Gardens by the Bay to check out the amazing plants and structures.

I’m glad we waited until after dark - it would’ve been so hot in the daytime! Tomorrow we head back to the airport to check out the Jewel and fly to Ho Chi Minh for a quick food tour, then onward to Sydney. Good night!
