Singapore in 24 hours (or less)

Less than a day isn’t really fair for Singapore, but that’s the way the reward flights fell! We arrived late afternoon:

Made our way through immigration, then hopped on transit to our hotel. Dropping our bags, we hustled over to the river (with a short stop at the 7/11 for an anti-hangries snack) just in time for the fireworks for Singapore National Day!

Sweaty as all get-out, we looked for a tasty restaurant with the trifecta: dumplings, air conditioning and accepting credit cards. Success! Our hotel was in Chinatown so there were lots of options. Of course we headed down a dark alley to find the best one! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Cold beer and Fanta works wonders. We had great food in a place that felt like it was not designed for tourists. It was exactly what we wanted.

Unfortunately, our internal clocks were thrown by the time zones change and we slept poorly. Oh well - off to breakfast anyway. Josephine found a cool ad she could peel off:

Next tower goal: Marina Bay Sands hotel.

Josephine was better with the heights this time, but the heat and humidity really is oppressive. Achievement unlocked:

The original plan was to wander around the Gardens by the Bay (photo above), but everyone was tired of the heat. We at least walked in a little ways:

I’m sure it’s lovely! Next stop, Changi Airport to cool off in the lounge.

See you in Kuala Lumpur!
